What is the dialling code for Ireland?

Ireland’s country code is +353.¹ This is the code you’ll need to put in front of the local number when calling someone there.

There are different dialling codes for each area across Ireland. You’ll also need to know this when phoning someone in Ireland. Here’s a quick list of codes for some of the biggest and well-known cities and regions:

How to call Ireland from the UK

Now, how do you actually make a call to Ireland from the UK or other international location? There are a few different components that make up the international dialling code for Ireland. If you’re making an international call for the first time, it can be a little complicated to get to grips with.

You’ll need to start with 00, which is the long distance dialling code when calling from the UK. Then, Ireland’s national dialling code of 353, followed by the local number without the first 0.²

So, for example, if you’re calling Dublin (regional code 01), the number will start with 00 353 1 XXX XXXX
