A study of Polish living in the U.S.

Wise

###According to the U.S. Census there are 419,332 Polish expats who call this country their new home.

We did some research to find out as much as we could about Polish expats living in America.

It’s no surprise that New York City is home to the largest population of Polish expats. However, Des Plaines, is where you are most likely to run into one. Among all of the places where Polish expats reside, this Chicago suburb has the highest concentration of Polish expats relative to the city's population. Almost 5% of this city is Polish.

We also dug into the social media behavior of Polish expats to see what the top interests are for those living on this side of the Atlantic.

Doing so, we found that the most popular Polish celebrity is journalist, TV personality and comedian, Kuba Wojewódzki. Taking in 10,000 likes from Polish expats. But he is no match for Lady Gaga, who has 23,000 likes from the Polish. Even the most popular athlete, Robert Lewandowski, still falls behind the American superstar with 18,000 likes.

The data also tells us that President Barack Obama has a following of 13,000. However, Republican Party candidate Donald Trump beats Obama in popularity by 4,000 likes. This makes Trump 8 times more popular than Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton, all in terms of social media popularity.

But it's not all about politics and celebrities, we also saw that Polish expats working in the U.S. are earning significantly higher per year than they would back home.

Take a look below to see just what else we found!

All behavior and interests data was obtained by analyzing social media trends and likes. Rankings are based on social media followings and do not reflect the political views of the entire [Polish] expat community.
