Head of UX Research – London

That’s why we’re looking for a Head of UX Research to help take our discovery and evaluative research to the next level.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be building our research function across TransferWise — hiring, supporting and developing researchers and architecting how they operate in and across our product teams.

You’ll also be a part of the Design leadership team, collaborating on cross-team projects, shaping our tooling and practices, and helping to make Design at TransferWise more impactful.

Your day-to-day

  • Establish how UX Research operates at TransferWise; making sure that we’re asking and answering the big, cross-product questions. 
  • Recruit and line manage our growing team of researchers; setting up tools and processes that help them work effectively and increase their impact. 
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Analysts, and Designers to make UX Research an impactful pillar of product development
  • Be a visible advocate for UX research across the company and lead by example — tackling research yourself when it makes sense. 

The experience you’ll need

  • You have at least 10 years’ experience, and you’ve already built a strong and impactful UX Research function in a fast-growing consumer product company. 
  • You’ve helped product teams understand customers, and use that insight to deliver bar-raising user experiences. You’ve done that on your own, and through research teams that you’ve led. 
  • You’re a natural people lead — genuinely motivated to help team members develop and create impact through others. 
  • You know how to establish Research Ops — and you can mentor and support others in a broad set of research methods and tools. 
  • You have a strong perspective on how teams can balance quantitative analytics data, with qualitative customer research.
