Pricing Lead – London

As a financial technology service/company moving billions of GBP of customer money in over 70 countries, TransferWise must have bulletproof financials. We need timely, accurate and scalable financial data to be compliant with regulations and make accurate business decisions inside the company.

We’re looking for an experienced Pricing Lead to join our Finance team in London.  You’ll be part of the team that helps TransferWise set the right price across all products and routes.

Your mission:

  • Build and evolve our cost allocation and pricing models to be accurate, robust, and efficient, in a way that captures the economics of the underlying product 
  • Drive rigour and consistency in our process of updating these models and sharing them with the wider business   
  • Own price changes, end-to-end, in partnership with product, design, comms, developers, ... Build a framework to analyze and understand the impact of these changes on our growth
  • Develop actionable insight from our data on costs and price, and partner with our product org to identify opportunities to scale costs and drive down price 
  • Drive the strategic evolution of how we price for our newer segments and products - from business users, to the Borderless account, to our Banking partners
  • Ensure the relevant controls are in place that assure we set the right price, charge the right price, and collect the right revenue across users and transactions
  • Lead a small but mighty team of analysts

A bit about you:

  • Have owned pricing previously including the analytics, implementation, and strategy. Preferably in the payments space; if not - in a fast growing tech business
  • Experienced at partnering with and challenging stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including at the executive level 
  • Have led, mentored, inspired, developed, and grown teams before
  • Technically proficient: you have a good command of SQL. A working knowledge of Python and/or R is a bonus
  • Passionate about what we’re building at TransferWise 
  • Care deeply both about the details and making sure things are “right”, while retaining the ability to think through the impact of your work at a broader strategic level
  • Keen to roll up sleeves and get the job done, we all do our own Excel still
  • Ability to operate to defined timelines while bringing together a diverse stakeholder group
  • Humble, comfortable operating with a level of uncertainty, keen to learn
  • Able to work across multiple teams, offices, timezones (and travel when needed!) with flexibility and a can do attitude
