Lead Marketing Designer – London

As marketing designers at TransferWise, our mission is part marketing, part education. TransferWise has a powerful value proposition — we make it cheaper to send, spend, and receive money internationally. But that can be tough to communicate. 

So we’re forever finding new ways to teach people about exchange rates, hidden fees, why international finance is traditionally unfair, and why we’re just as safe as a bank. And plenty else.

We’re looking for a Lead Marketing Designer

We’re growing our customer base at a dizzying pace. We’re launching new routes, new features, and whole new products all the time. So we run campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, SEM, podcasts, partnerships, as well as on the London tube and New York subway.

You’ll work on the design and strategy of all these things. But you’ll also lead and develop a small and talented team of other marketing designers. 

You’ll be an important part of the larger design team too — there’s 40 of us in total. So you’ll get to collaborate with brand designers, UX researchers and copywriters to create great digital campaigns.

On any given day, you might: 

  • Focus on your own acquisition projects or help shape your team’s work — it spans money transfer, the new borderless account, and TransferWise for Business.
  • Help get our newly-formed in-house agency off the ground, and act as its Creative Art Director.
  • Create new ways for people to discover and understand TransferWise. And use data and research to make the existing ways even better.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to understand problems and define beautiful, effective solutions.
  • Help our marketing teams understand and appreciate the impact of great design and how to make it happen

You might be a good fit for this role if:

  • You’re a great design leader — with experience of managing and developing a small team. 
  • You discover, understand and design for real human needs and behaviours 
  • Your portfolio shows conceptual design thinking for web, digital, print, and advertising.
  • You’re passionate about building a strong, inclusive brand for a global audience.
  • You’re a clear, pragmatic communicator who gives and take feedback constructively. 
  • It’d be extra nice if you had some front-end coding skills, but it’s not obligatory.
