We’re making a positive, irreversible change in the world of finance. Together.

Product Analyst - Finance – Tallinn

At TransferWise, we’ve got a clear mission — money without borders. Built by and for people who live global lives.  In 2018, we got a little bit closer to achieving that mission. We launched the TransferWise debit card.

We are looking for Product Analyst to join us in Tallinn to help the team automate financial processes, provide the team with an understanding of the data we manage, measure our metrics and propose improvements in data flows.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be embedded in the Finance team, helping us understand our data, it’s quality and communicating your findings to the team. There’s nearly 50 of us in total, so you’ll get to collaborate with Finance specialists on a variety of areas, shape our systems, tooling and processes.

You’ll collaborate closely with your product managers, analysts, and engineers to build a vision for efficient, scalable and controlled finance operations.

Your day-to-day

At TransferWise, everyone gets a ton of freedom and autonomy. We won’t be micromanaging or looking over your shoulder, so you’ll need to:

  • Work across teams to fix data quality issues, such as missing or incorrect data.
  • Ensure we have consistent and reliable data quality through reporting and being transparent with users about your findings.
  • Provide user support on our financial data. This should allow them to understand the meaning and reliability of financial data and make informed business decisions based on it.
  • Act as SME on financial data as we build a product to automate our financial processes.
  • Work on large, mission-critical datasets - be part of the team developing and running financial data quality controls in a fast-growing fintech company.
  • Own your own path to success - you’ll have a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
  • Work in an international Finance Team and learn a lot about the Finance area, fintech and driving financial sustainability of a fast-growing company.

The experience you’ll need

  • You are confident and competent with data analytics - you are great with data, intermediate to advanced SQL and basic functions of data visualisation tools.
  • You have experience with executing data controls and control processes.
  • You love digging in data, numbers, thinking systematically, and analysing inter-dependencies. You like to keep things in order, investigating data riddles and head-scratching challenges.
  • You are an excellent communicator - you're able to explain complicated processes or data controls in a simple and clear way.
  • If you have good knowledge of accounting and can understand the meaning and logic behind detailed financial data then that's great but it's not essential.

P.S. Qualifications aren’t that important to us. If you’ve got a great portfolio, and you’re top-notch at articulating your thinking, we’d like to hear from you.

And because we believe that diverse teams build better products, we’d also love to hear from you if you’re from an under-represented demographic.

Some important stuff we would like you to know

To meet our regulatory obligations as a licensed financial services company, TransferWise needs to take background checks on all new hires, which may include Criminal and Credit checks. Please discuss with the Recruiter if you have any concerns regarding this process.

At TransferWise we believe in fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Therefore, we want to make sure that our recruitment process is accessible to everyone. So if you need any reasonable adjustments – at any point in the process – we’ll do our best to help. Just let us know what you need on your application form or reply with your request to the email we send you after you have applied. You might need a reasonable adjustment if you’ve got a disability. Or maybe you live overseas, and you’d prefer to meet us over Skype.

Please don’t send anything to the adjustments address if you’re a recruiter, or if you’re making a speculative application. We do work with recruiters from time to time – but only through LinkedIn. And we only accept job applications when a position is actually open. So you’re better off just checking the recruitment pages regularly.
