Product Manager - Mobile Currencies – London

We’re looking for a Product Manager  - Global Currencies to join our growing Mobile Development team in London. The role is a unique opportunity to come up with  new ideas to increase conversion and customer delight, and reduce the need for a customers to contact us.

Your mission:

  • Your mission is to power the expansion and localisation of our product. You’ll be building on top of a product we’ve localised to succeed in over 70 countries. How the edge cases we’ve baked into the back-end are represented on mobile will become your bread and butter.
  • You’ll help the team have as much impact as possible by helping them prioritise all the ideas on their plate. The team consisting of 2 Android and 2 iOS developers works with a large number of web & back-end teams (>30 engineers).
  • You’ll work with the team to brainstorm new ideas and you’ll take input from back-end teams about features and bugs, and make sure back-end features work as well, if not better, on mobile than web. You’ll need to work with designers and liaise with other front-end focused teams to ship a world-class product. You’ll help clear internal and external blockers before they affect the flow of the team.
  • You’ll gain strong customer insights by talking to, listening to, and observing customers. You’ll quantify the benefits of the potential ideas by deeply understanding TransferWise’s systems and the data you can extract from it. You’ll scope the complexity of building new features and understand the risks associated with product development.
  • You’ll own the code on our iOS and Android apps that power market launches, regional specific payment methods, personal customer verification, and local recipient creation.

Example things you might help with be helping with:

  • Running a new A/B test to help figure out the best way to increase conversion for customers paying from Brazil.
  • Integrating with a vendor’s API so customers sending money from USD can get their money to us in as few steps as possible.
  • Building out our dynamic forms functionality so back-end changes propagate to apps instantly.
  • Challenging regional teams to build mobile-friendly APIs.
  • Enabling customers to send new currencies.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Choose your own path to success - you’ll have the freedom to define the vision and the responsibility for making it happen.
  • Be flexible in how and where you work, we understand everyone needs a little something different so we’ll do our best to make it happen.
  • Travel to work with our teams in Tallinn or Budapest.

A bit about you:

  • You don’t need all of the hard skills mentioned below to snag the role, but you need to show us you’re dedicated to master them them quickly.
    • SQL
    • Business Analytics tools (e.g. Mixpanel, Looker)
    • Agile software development methodologies
  • You are thirsty for knowledge and an eye for detail and design.

Some extra skills that would be awesome:

  • It won’t hurt for you to understand the basics of app development - we’ll help you get XCode and Android Studio spun up on your machine and help you piece together how our apps are built.
