Accountant – Tallinn

To help us achieve our mission, we’re searching for an Accountant to join the TransferWise Finance team in our Tallinn office and be responsible for the full set of daily accounting in one of our subsidiaries. The Finance team is now 30+ people strong and handling accounting, controlling, budgeting, tax and data quality control for over 10 entities throughout the world (and the number of entities is growing fast!).

Your mission:

  • Daily processing of vendor invoices, payments, bank reconciliations and expense reports
  • Month-end closing procedures (prepare accruals/provisions, review completeness of monthly financial results, consolidate estimates from other teams)
  • Monthly financials review (prepare balance sheet reconciliations, review and analyse expense accounts)
  • Supervision of outsourced accounting partners (provide information, guidance, review the results)
  • Assist in providing responses to the financial audit requests

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Work with international teams and external partners, incl. business travel to other TransferWise offices
  • Develop and improve internal control environment
  • Experience more sophisticated accounting areas, such as complex group consolidation, multi-currency accounting, share-based compensations and more

  • International experience: working experience abroad or in an international company, demonstrating ability to work across cultures and a good understanding of international of handling of cultural differences
  • Master’s degree in accounting/finance, professional qualification (ACCA or similar)
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Hungarian language skills
