Senior Finance BI Developer – London

We’re looking for a Senior Finance BI Developer to join the Finance team to help us make better use of data to inform key business and product decisions across the company. This is a unique opportunity to shape and grow BI within Finance and to help drive the TransferWise mission of helping millions of users save money and benefit financially.

You’ll be involved in helping us get better at answering many key strategic financial questions across forecasting and budgeting, pricing, investor relations, and supporting the capital needs of the business.

Your mission:

  • Understand data needs of Finance and Product teams, and the business context and growth underlying these needs
  • Develop a deep understanding of our financial infrastructure and database (DB), and how to best use and leverage this
  • Work with Engineering to build data solutions that are an excellent fit for an evolving and fast growing business:
    1. Designing and negotiating required data transformations and outputs, ensuring raw and aggregated data availability
    2. Ensuring the quality, consistency, accuracy, timeliness, and availability of transformed or aggregated data produced by the Finance BI team

This role will give you the opportunity to:

A bit about you: 

  • BS degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrable relevant work experience in data analysis or related field
  • Experience building data infrastructure e.g. designing architecture, building data pipelines, implement scalable monitoring
  • Experience designing relational databases, including ETL design, schema design and dimensional data modelling
  • Experience working with statistical software (e.g. R, Python, MATLAB) and database languages/tools (e.g. SQL, Tableau, Qlikview, Looker)
