Senior SEO Analyst – London

A bit about the job

We're looking for a super smart SEO analyst to join our growing performance marketing team. SEO at TransferWise isn’t about sticking keywords on a webpage or building artificial links, but making sure we offer the best possible products, content and on-site experiences to our customers. At TransferWise we’re on a mission to empower our users to make smart financial decisions based on transparent information. Our SEO team is no different. There is no point in working in search unless you understand how what you’re building is helping the end user.

So while we need someone who ‘gets’ SEO, we also need someone who can get to the heart of how we help our users and change the world for the better. If that’s you, read on.

What will you get to do?

  • Analytical thinking is the key - you will empower the team thanks to your understanding of data and SEO
  • Using Looker, create foundational reporting structures for our products and develop actionable insights and objectives.
  • Develop proprietary SEO tools to enable the team to operate at scale.
  • Research new potential target audiences and figure out how best to reach them. Help us scale our research with topic modeling and NLP.
  • Communicate key insights and obstacles to the team and broader company.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to work with some of our fantastic international teams, and even to travel to our offices around the world...

About you….

  • Strong background in SEO & marketing analytics.
  • A strong understanding of the principles of marketing attribution.
  • Hands-on experience working in a test and learn environment—you will have positively impacted your organisation through rigorous testing.
  • You’re confident using the most popular SEO tools: webmaster consoles, keyword tracking, and backlink discovery tools. You’ll be comfortable working with APIs.
  • You’re highly confident with SQL and have an interest in or knowledge of R or Python. You will be expected to enhance your technical skills to draw actionable insight.
  • You’re an expert in GA and skilled with Google Tag Manager. Bonus points for MixPanel experience. More importantly, you know how to extract useful information from these tools—you can debug tracking issues, configure meaningful analytics goals, and can design effective experiments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Maths, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • You have a proven record of assuming ownership and moving quickly to implement ideas.
  • Fluent knowledge of foreign languages is beneficial.
  • Lastly but most importantly: passion for TransferWise mission and drive to provide our customers the best possible search experience.
