  • Customer Value Data Analyst

TransferWise is the clever new way to move money between countries. Co-founded by Skype’s first employee and backed by some of planet's most experienced innovators, including Sir Richard Branson and PayPal founder Peter Thiel, we're disrupting the world of currency & international money transfer. We’re looking for a data rock-star, who can help us spread the revolution to the customers that need us the most. We need you to take our Customer Lifetime Value model to the next level: first automating the current set-up, then building new predictive models for customer behaviour. It's truly a cross-functional role, with future potential for diverse projects to work on and a great opportunity to shine like the data star that you are.

    So, what’s the role?

    • Understand the way our current Customer Lifetime Value model works: its purpose, strengths and limitations

    • Use mySQL to implement this model fully on our core database: coding the underlying calculations and forecasts, sense-checking the output and setting up daily runs

    • Embed the new data into our business-wide analytical front-end tools

    • Use your understanding of our customer data to recommend more predictive or responsive customer value models

    • Implement any promising new models in mySQL / Python / R and share your findings with the business

    • Proven track record in reporting and analytics role, with strong examples of having made a real difference, proactively. You’ll need to quickly get to grips with cohort modelling and forecasting from limited datasets.

    • Strong SQL and Excel (Pivot tables, VBA) knowledge. You can unpick a large model and build small prototypes in Excel, and when it comes to SQL you’ve worked with large business datasets before, understand complex joins and stored procedures, and write beautiful code

    • A superstar with visualisation and presenting data in a way that makes people go "damn, that’s beautiful".

    • Experience in customer segmentation across widely varied customer bases

    • You know how to do cohort analysis and think in lifetime value terms

    • Solid commercial skills and business awareness

    • Strong communicator both written and verbally

  • Marketing Director UK

TransferWise is looking for a growth-obsessed marketer to take ownership of developing and executing the TransferWise brand in our core UK Market. Working to drive growth in an already high-growth environment, you'll lead the existing team, and build-out new capabilities across the whole mix in multiple markets. The TransferWise brand is a huge asset to us - it is what sets us apart from the competition and incumbents. It is the manifestation of our mission, and this is not a job for the faint hearted. First and foremost we want to be famous, and famously loved, for rewriting the banks' rulebook. Cheap money transfer this ain't.

But we're not looking for a classic brand marketer. We need more than that. This is about building a global brand that turns our global community of users into an army of word-spreaders. It's about managing a tone that takes it right to the line, but never too far, fighting the establishment on behalf of the people with both digital and traditional media as your toolkit. You must have an extremely high risk appetite. An even higher level of intellect. And at your heart, you're an entrepreneur.

    Driving evangelism

Viral growth is the single most important element of our growth model. You'll take charge of growing the level of evangelism amongst our customers in a way that delights, surprises and deepens their love for the brand.

    Brand marketing

You'll grow existing channels and bring new ones to the mix, always focussing on ROI and size of opportunity. It's a direct response mindset, but we're also building a brand here. You'll deploy a significant media budget to scale and grow the business within specific audiences (e.g. ethnic communities, students, expats), and across mass media channels. You'll oversee creative production and be responsible for ensuring tone and message are spot on.

Experiential, stunts, campaigns, social media, buzz

We have set a high bar already with a string of successful stunts and content marketing campaigns - these drive customers to feel closer to brand, establish our challenger status and help grow our awareness. We believe that going forward this is key our fame, but as we scale into new markets, the creativity needs to be sky-high, and the execution pin-point.

    Testing and growing new channels

The playbook is only partly written, and there's a long way to grow. You'll have freedom, resources and headcount to try whatever you want, and to work with other teams (e.g. Online Performance / PR / Product) to drive hyper growth.

    Must haves:

    • Track record of having built a brand either in a startup environment or in launching a product within a more corporate environment.

    • Good taste.  It can’t be taught but as owner of our Brand in the UK, you’ll have an intuitive sense of what works with our customers and what doesn’t.

    • Novel channel development.  You have no trouble in developing novel routes to market - partnerships or innovative performance marketing deals.

    • Expertise in testing and growing multiple media channels simultaneously, and experience of running measurable, ROI-positive activity across the whole marketing mix - Outdoor, TV, print, online display, online video, sales promotions, direct.

    • An unorthodox approach to social media, content and community marketing - a pioneer in this area.

    • Extensive experience of managing media and creative agencies.

    • Knowledge of generating and using customer insight, with deep customer empathy.

    • Experience of working across multiple markets in multiple languages, targeting disparate consumer segments.

    • That ‘at home’ feeling in a high growth environment - you already know what it feels like to move incredibly fast and keep the graphs moving up and to the right.
