The ACH electronic routing number is a nine-digit, all number code that identifies each US bank. It's needed to complete domestic, bank-to-bank, electronic transfers - the kind TransferWise uses to pay out all USD transfers below £24,000 and receive ACH Bank Debit Payments.
For these kinds of transfers to be successful, we can only use your electronic routing number. We cannot accept wire or any other routing numbers your bank may provide you.
Feel free to check this page for guidelines on how to find the right one. To be sure you have the correct number, please always check with your recipient's bank.
If the incorrect number is used, your money will not be lost. It will return to our account after which we can either re-send it to the correct routing number or refund you in full.
