Transfers to Brazilian Real

Sending to BRL

Basic Information   Notes
TransferWise Fee 1.5% (or 10BRL for payments under 400BRL) When sending from currencies where the fee would normally be 0.5%, the fee is instead 1.5%. For information about the fee when transferring from USD to BRL, please see this page
Delivery time* 1 working day *After payout. Please keep in mind that TransferWise can take up to two working days to convert your funds from receiving the deposit
Minimum/Maximum payment 10BRL / 250,000BRL  
Extra 10,000 USD per transfer limit/35,000 BRL per month/70,000 BRL yearly limit Due to Brazilian regulations - if your transfer amount exceeds the equivalent of 10,000 USD (per transfer)  in BRL or 35,000 per month or 70,000 BRL per year you may be contacted for extra information.

Required Details    
Recipient Full Name Yes Please include first name and surname.
Recipient Local Account Number and Type Yes BRL Local Account number should be 4-20 digits, and the type of account must be specified. 
Recipient Bank name and branch code Yes Bank name can be selected via a dropdown list during payment setup, branch code should be 4 to 5 digits.
Recipient Tax ID/CPF Yes BRL Tax ID should be 11 digits.
Recipient Phone Number Yes This is mandatory for all BRL recipients, and must be a local Brazilian phone number.
Fixed/specific amount Yes The currency you're sending from must also be able to send fixed amounts. For more information, please click here. When you transfer from USD, we offer a locked exchange rate - more information here
Transfers to an email address Yes  Except when transferring from USD. For more information, please click here
Rate Limit 5% When creating a payment to Brazil, you are subject to a rate limit of 5%. This means that if, in the time between transfer creation and TransferWise completing your transfer, the rate drops by 5% or more, then your transfer may be delayed.


Information regarding BRL business payments

TransferWise can only make personal payments to Brazil, we cannot currently make payments to BRL which are to or from a business account, both the sender and recipient must be a privately owned account of an individual. (The money for a BRL transfer cannot come from a trust fund account, or any type of third party account.)
