ID Verification

As a financial institution, we have to confirm each of our customers identities as a safety measure for their money. You can upload your ID for verification here.

When prompted when setting up a transfer on your TransferWise profile or by email from support@transferwise.com, you will need to provide a high-quality photo or scan of a valid photo ID which shows:
 
  • Your photo
  • Your full name
  • Your date of birth
  • Your signature
  • Document expiration date (must be valid)
  • The full machine readable zone if applicable (the two lines of letters and numbers at the bottom of the document)

Your full name and date of birth must match those on your TransferWise profile. If your photo/scan is not of high enough quality, we will request a better copy. Also, nothing on the document can be covered or censored.

A valid ID can be:
 
  • Passport (Photo page only)
  • National ID Card (back and front) 
  • Driver's Licence Card

Your document can be securely uploaded to your TransferWise profile here.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept ID's in PDF format. Please take a screen shot of the PDF, creating an image in jpg. format. 

In the majority of cases, verification takes 2 working days maximum. Once requested, verification must be completed before your transfers can go forward.
