Transfers to South African Rand

TransferWise can send South African Rand (ZAR) to personal and business ZAR bank accounts located in South Africa. 

Please note:

- TransferWise pays out money to South Africa using the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT). This means that the transfer must pass through network banks before reaching your recipient's bank account in South Africa. These banks may deduct a handling fee. 

- TransferWise cannot yet receive transfers from South Africa. To request them, please click here


Sending to ZAR

Basic Information   Notes
TransferWise Fee - 293 ZAR for transfers up to 4200 ZAR. 
- 293 ZAR + 0.7% for transfers over 4200 ZAR
When sending from currencies where the fee would normally be 0.5% (e.g. GBP), the fee is instead 0.7% + ZAR 293.
