International Wire: Paying from your Overseas USD Account

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) payment network is one of the largest financial messaging systems in the world. Using it, we can receive US Dollars from USD bank accounts located all over the world. See how below!

Sending US Dollars to TransferWise from your USD account outside the United States. 

On the final step of setting up a transfer from USD on your TransferWise profile, you'll see the "International wire" payment option. Select this if you need to pay from your USD account located outside the US. 




Then, separately log in to your online banking or go to your nearest bank branch to make the transfer to the details of our international account in the UK.

1-3 working days. We'll let you know by email as soon as your money arrives to our account.  
 

Bank fees 
 
Your bank will charge you a fee to send the money.  
Also, intermediary banks that route the money to us will likely charge their own fees. The amount depends on the banks involved, but it's less than $15 total in 90% of cases.

Rate Lock

If you're money arrives to us by 7 p.m. Eastern Standard US
time the working day after you set up your transfer, you'll receive the
