Required details    
Recipient full name Yes Please include first name and surname
Recipient address Yes Recipient's address is required only when sending from USD
Recipient local account number and type Yes BRL local account number should be 4–12 digits, and the type of account must be specified
Recipient bank name and branch code Yes Select the bank name from a dropdown list during transfer setup. Branch code should be 4–5 digits
Recipient tax ID/CPF Yes BRL tax ID should be 11 digits
Recipient phone number Yes This is mandatory for all BRL recipients 
Amount lock transfers Yes The currency you're sending from must also be able to send fixed amounts. Please see our other Currencies articles for more information
Rate limit 5% When creating a transfer to Brazil, you are subject to a rate limit of 5%. This means that if, in the time between setting up a transfer and TransferWise completing your transfer, the rate drops by 5% or more, your transfer may be delayed


BRL business transfers 

You can only send personal transfers to Brazil. Both the sender and recipient must be a privately owned account of an individual. The money for a BRL transfer cannot come from a business account, trust fund, or any type of third party account and you can't send to a business in Brazil.

Ouvidoria service

If you make a transfer to or from BRL, we provide an Ouvidoria service. Because TransferWise is a European company, this is only for our Brazilian customers. At the moment, it's only available by email. 

If you have an issue that hasn't been resolved by our customer support team, you can send your case to the Ouvidoria. You'll get a response within 2 business days, and a final response within 10 business days.
