Countries we can send to Russia only Due to current EU sanctions we cannot send RUB to Crimea or Sevastopol

Required details: sending to bank account    
Recipient full name Yes Name must match with that on the recipient's bank account exactly, including patronymic name*
Recipient region Yes Selected from a dropdown menu
Recipient address Yes  
Recipient local account number Yes Local account number should be 20 digits and in this format:
  • 40817810XXXXXXXXXXXX
  • 40820810XXXXXXXXXXXX
  • 423ХХ810XXXXXXXXXXXX
  • 426ХХ810XXXXXXXXXXXX
Recipient bank code Yes Bank code should be 9 digits
Required details: sending to card   Only available on the TransferWise website — we can't send to card on mobile apps
Recipient full name Yes Name must be in Latin letters
Recipient region Yes Selected from a dropdown menu
Recipient address Yes  
Recipient card number Yes Card number should start with 4, 5 or 6 and be 13, 16, or 18 digits long
Maximum amount 100,000 RUB  
Features    
Amount lock transfers Yes The currency you're sending from must also be able to send fixed amounts. Please see our other Currencies articles for more information
Business transfers No When sending a transfer to RUB, the recipient account must be a privately owned account of an individual

*If your recipient's name is written in Cyrillic on their bank account, it must be written in Cyrillic on the transfer you create with us. If there's any discrepancy between the recipient name you provide us, and the name on your recipient's account, your transfer will bounce back to us. Then, we'll be in touch with you via email to fix it.
