What's SEPA?

SEPA stands for Single Euro Payments Area, and is an agreement between countries within Europe setting standards for EUR-EUR transfers within this zone. It aims to make transfers between European banks the same as domestic transfers, carrying no additional charges.

Recipient full name Yes When sending to individuals, please include first name and surname
Recipient IBAN Yes IBAN should be between 15 and 31 characters long (letters and numbers) depending on the country. Learn about SEPA countries and IBAN lengths.

 EUR refunds

If you cancel your transfer from EUR after you have sent your money to us (using one of the payment methods listed), and before your transfer has been completed, then we can simply refund your money back to you. See what is required to complete the refund for your payment method below.

Bank transfer

When refunding a bank transfer, the money must be sent back to the account it came from. We will ask for the following details:

  • Account holder name
  • IBAN
  • Bank code (BIC/SWIFT)

Your money will then be sent back to you. It should arrive within 2 working days maximum.

Debit/credit card

Card payment refunds are an automatic process (but not instant). Once you cancel a payment, your money will be sent back to the card you paid from. It can take up to 10 working days for the money to reflect back on your card.

SOFORT

When cancelling a transfer that you've paid for using SOFORT, your money must arrive to us before we can refund it. This typically takes 1–2 working days. Once it reaches our account, we can refund it directly back to the sending account.

The refund will take 1–2 working days to arrive back into your account.

iDeal

If you cancel a EUR transfer that you've paid for using iDeal, your money will be sent back to the account you paid from. It will arrive back within 1–2 working days.

Trustly instant bank transfer

If you cancel a EUR transfer that you've paid for using Trustly instant bank payment, your money will be sent back to the account you paid from. It will arrive back within 1–2 working days and you will see Trustly as the sender on your account statement.
