What do participants think?

Vitaliy Lakusta - 2015 Winner

Why did you like the event? "Opportunity to meet the smartest engineers in Estonia - it was inspiring to learn product engineering from TransferWisers in action. And free food of course."
What did you learn? "I learned how to build a minimum viable product having limited time and resources. And being humble and listening to my team and mentors, and at the same time being proactive and taking action!"
Who would you recommend? "I was afraid to take part of a hackathon at first, since I knew nothing about fintech. I recommend anyone who wishes to know what it takes to build a product from zero to one to take part of the hackathon! Still not sure? Then you should apply!"

Julia Melnychuk - 2016 Participant

Why did you like the event? "It doesn’t feel like a big crowded hackathon. TransferWise manages to create an atmosphere of hacking and having fun with friends."
What did you learn? "I learned that team is the most important part in the hackathon: if the team is right - you can do anything!"
Who would you recommend? "If you want to learn new things, meet new people, share your ideas and have fun building something new, TransferWise hackathon is the place to be! In addition you will have a chance to hear an exciting story about a viking." :)

A. W. Tammsaar - 2016 Winner

Why did you like the event? "I liked the people the most. The mentors are genuinely interesting and inspiring people who I learned more from in a few hours than I learned in a year at university."
What did you learn? "Making the most out of as little as possible. That’s what an MVP is essentially. Putting your time where it has the most impact. "
Who would you recommend? "Inventive makers, challenge-seekers and self-improvers. People looking for an opportunity to learn from some of the best. I think anyone who has a love of tech and making interesting things will surely get a lot out of competing."
