The Pacific team at TransferWise looks after Australia and New Zealand. We make sending money to and from Australia and New Zealand as cheap, fast, and convenient as possible.

Our team has been working hard to deliver on our mission of money without borders. We wanted to share a few updates with you.

We changed prices for customers in Australia and New Zealand

We believe sending money to another country should be as cheap as sending an email. Yes, we think it should be free. We’re not there yet, but that’s what we’re shooting for.

So we recently changed our pricing in Australia and New Zealand so our pricing more accurately reflects our costs.

We’ve gotten better at what we do since we opened in Australia. So on lots of routes and amounts, our costs have gone down. We’ve lowered our fees in those places. But, unfortunately, despite our best efforts, some transfers still cost us a little more than we originally estimated. We’ve raised our fees on those transfers to cover our costs.

Overall, 65% of customers sending money from Australia now get a lower price than before. The rest experienced an increase in price or no change. This new pricing structure also sets us up to more easily lower prices in the future.

We also raised the limits for customers who pay for their money transfers by card. It went from $3,500 to $10,000. And lots of you took advantage of this increased convenience.

What’s next?
