How to apply for a Greece visa

To apply for a visa to Greece, Indian passport holders will need to print out and complete a document from the authorized visa application center website for the Embassy of Greece in India. The application then needs to be submitted in person at the authorized center along with your documents.

While the authorized center does collect the paperwork, it will be the Embassy that assesses the application and documents. You might be invited for a personal interview at the Embassy during the application process.

Since there is a high demand to go to Greece and other Schengen countries, the Embassy of Greece suggests applying at least 22 to 45 days before your trip so your application is processed in time. Applications submitted less than 22 days before a trip may not be permitted a visa.

Here is the Greek visa application process:⁸

  1. Choose the visa applicationcenter most convenient to you.
  2. Review the guidelines and select the most appropriate visa.
  3. Download the visa application form and fill in your details. Choose the long-term visa application form if you are looking for a work visa.
  4. Book an appointment with the Visa Application Centre and bring the documents for submission.
  5. Pay the visa fees in cash or through UPI.
  6. Get the acknowledgement and wait for the visa approval.
