Less clicks makes Klaus a happy camper

Wise

You may have noticed that since the Wise public launch in January, we have kept our hands busy and mouths shut. Very little chatter on the twitter and blabber on this blog.

Instead we have managed to put through some important updates to the site and the service. Let's list what has been done:

  1. Cleaner home page design and logo update. Wise is it, not a sexual being - so we dropped the rainbow theme from the logo.

  2. IT folks at some banks seem to be on a mission to frustrate their customers - so they create user interfaces, which don't allow changing the payment reference when sending money to an existing beneficiary. To save our users valuable clicks on their internet banking site, we have given each user a unique reference code like "P20634". It does not change and should be used on every deposit payment.

  3. We think that passwords are bad. So many things can go wrong with them - you can forget them, lose them, write them on a post-it note and stick 'em to your monitor. And they are so 00s. Now you can make your first payment on Wise without creating an account. Just click through, enter your details and book it. At the end of course you can link your Wise account with Google or Yahoo or create a password to save your details for your next payment.

  4. Wise keeps you up to date with your payment status by email to track where your money is. We pride ourselves on transparency. Now we have added a payment status page, which you can access from secure links we put into these notification emails. Emails are never to be considered particularly secure - so we have hidden all the sensitive account details from that page.

  5. And there are minor updates on the payment booking process - just to make it cleaner and clearer for people who want to change money with people.

We hope you like these updates.
